Q&A format explaining why there are two separate entities

Why are there two different Children Welfare Association entities?

We have two legally separate but closely aligned entities to better serve children both locally and overseas:

  • Children Welfare Association (UEN: T25SS0067H) is a registered society focused on programmes that support underprivileged children in Singapore.

  • Children Welfare Association (UEN: 53505678L) is a separately registered business entity that acts as our fundraising partner and runs programmes to help children in need across Asia.

This structure allows us to comply with local regulations, keep funding streams transparent, and expand our mission beyond Singapore.

How are my donations managed?

When you give through our fundraising initiatives:

  • Local fundraising activities: 90% of funds raised go directly to support the Singapore-based programmes run by the society (UEN: T25SS0067H), with 10% retained by the fundraising partner as a service fee.

  • General or overseas fundraising activities: By default, 45% goes to local initiatives, 45% to overseas programmes, and 10% covers service fees.

  • Your wishes come first: If you specify how you’d like your donation to be used (local, overseas, or split differently), we will honour your preference fully.

How can I be sure my donation is used as intended?

We are committed to accountability and transparency. We keep detailed records of funds raised and how they are allocated, and we always follow any specific instructions you provide. This ensures your gift makes the greatest impact where your heart intends.
